Swansea University is highly rated for teaching quality and student satisfaction, and will be celebrating its centenary in 2020. Its two campuses are both just metres from the seafront. Singleton Park Campus was founded in 1920, overlooks Swansea Bay and is surrounded by acres of parkland. The new Bay Campus opened in 2015 and has its own private beach.
There are seven academic colleges, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes to students from more than 100 countries. The University is research-driven and works to solve real-world problems and global challenges. Around 90% of its research is classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in terms of its impact on society.
Most courses offer work placements or integrated years in industry, and the award-winning Swansea Employability Academy offers free careers advice and opportunities. The University aims to offer all undergraduate students the chance to study or work overseas.
Swansea is a friendly and welcoming university that cares for its students. It’s known for its lively social scene, with an active students’ union and 170 clubs and societies. The city of Swansea is South West Wales’ cultural and entertainment hub, with energetic, student-friendly nightlife.
