Founded in 1872, Aberystwyth University has a long tradition of excellence. It has 19 academic departments offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the oldest International Politics department in the world.

The campus overlooks beautiful Cardigan Bay, and the Victorian seafront is among the most famous sights of West Wales. The town of Aberystwyth is a lively and inexpensive place to live, with plenty going on to keep students occupied outside their studies.

Teaching is research-led, and the University earned a Gold rating in the most recent Teaching Excellence Framework. Students are taught by staff who are at the forefront of their field, and able to share the latest ideas and discoveries in their subject area. In the latest Research Excellence Framework, 95% of the research submitted by Aberystwyth academics was rated as world-class.

Employability is key, with around 97% of graduates in work or further study six months after graduating.
