From the US and India to Namibia and Nigeria, the students we spoke to are studying a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees – but all agree that academic excellence, world-class facilities and welcoming communities are the foundation of Welsh universities.

Claire, Cardiff Metropolitan University

Hailing from California, Claire is studying MSc Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at Cardiff Metropolitan University. State of the art facilities and cutting-edge technology have given Claire the knowledge and experience she needs to kickstart her career in a robotics field after finishing her master’s degree.
Shloka, Cardiff University
“Presenting in front of world-leading academics in neuroscience was monumental.”
Shloka has almost completed her studies of Neuroscience with a Professional Training Year (MNeuro) at Cardiff University. During her time as a student, she has had the opportunity to participate in multiple research conferences including being the youngest presenter at the Australian Research Dementia Forum and attending a fully funded conference in Texas with the Alzheimer’s Research Association.
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

All the way from Iowa in the US, Kylie is using her talent in classical voice to study BMus Music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The college has given her the time, space and materials she needed to grow as a musician and a singer, and the vast amount of performance experience she has gained over the last few years has given her confidence in her future.
Emmanuela, Swansea University

Studying MSc Economics, Emmanuela was inspired to study at Swansea University by the passion and enthusiasm of its lecturers. Leilani, University of South Wales

Lecturers with industry experience and modules with practical learning led Leilani to choose the University of South Wales to study BSc Forensic Science. As a third-year student, Leilani loves how her course has exposed her to all the different areas of forensic science, deepening her understanding and offering different perspectives will help her decide what she wants to specialise in in the future.
