Universities Wales has been delighted once again at the success of the Welsh presence at the annual National Association of International Educators (NAFSA) conference.
Supported by universities and the Global Wales partnership, Study in Wales once again secured an imposing and impressive presence in the NAFSA expo hall, alongside stands from Scotland and the British Council.
Universities used this opportunity to meet with partners from the USA and beyond at the Study in Wales booth, and hundreds of delegates visited us to discover more about Wales and opportunities for students.
The annual Study in Wales reception, this year at the British residence in Los Angeles, was extremely well-received and memorable, and was supported by LA-based Welsh actors and guest speakers Owain Rhys Davies and Luca Malacrino. British Consul General Chris O’Connor welcomed the guests, who included Welsh university partners from around the world and guests from the British Council, Welsh Government, and Universities UK.
The Global Wales partnership brings together Universities Wales, British Council Wales, Welsh Government and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales. We aim to build new collaborative ventures, and boost student recruitment and international research collaborations, while increasing Wales’s profile to draw further inward investment and increase export contributions.
The EAIE International Education Conference in Seville, Spain in September 2017 will be Study in Wales’ next international event.
